Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Refinea platform operated by Refinea S.r.l. ("Refinea", "we", "our", or "us"), VAT number 06241080875. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Refinea is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform that helps brands and agencies monitor and optimize their visibility across AI search engines. The platform includes buyer persona intelligence, AI visibility monitoring, citation analysis, content creation tools, automated audits, and brand memory features.

2. Account Registration

To use Refinea, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You may sign up using your email address or through Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use Refinea.

3. Plans and Pricing

Refinea offers the following plans:

  • Lite: €129/month (or discounted annual billing)
  • Pro: €299/month (or discounted annual billing), with a 14-day free trial
  • Agency: custom pricing

Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes (VAT). Plans include unlimited team members within the stated usage limits (prompts, articles, workflow credits).

We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing cycle.

4. Free Trial

The Pro plan includes a 14-day free trial. During the trial, you have full access to Pro features. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the Pro plan.

5. Payment and Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan). All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to the platform until the end of your current billing period. No pro-rata refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

If your payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. If payment continues to fail, we may suspend or terminate your account after providing reasonable notice.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the platform or by contacting us at support@refinea.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged for subsequent periods after cancellation. During the free trial, you may cancel at any time before the trial ends without being charged.

7. Data and Integrations

When you connect third-party services (such as Google Search Console or Google Analytics) to Refinea, you grant us permission to access and process the data from those services as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the authority to grant this access. You can revoke access to connected services at any time.

We do not claim ownership of any data you provide or connect to the platform. Your data remains yours.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or its systems
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized third parties
  • Use the platform to harass, defame, or harm others
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
  • Resell or redistribute access to the platform without our written consent
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform beyond the provided API

9. Intellectual Property

The Refinea platform, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by Refinea S.r.l. and protected by intellectual property laws. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform for its intended purpose.

Content you create using the platform (articles, audits, insights) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over content generated for your account.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Refinea shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Refinea in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Availability and Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability of the platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the platform at any time with reasonable notice. We will notify you of material changes that affect your use of the service.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination, during which you may request an export. After 30 days, your data will be deleted.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Catania, Italy, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
